We will be running a nutrition session that will be designed to meet the needs of our athletes and their competition schedules. It is essential for swimmers to understand how to fuel their bodies optimally, particularly when racing heats and finals.
Date: November 26th, 2024
Time: 4:00 P.M.
Location: Shaw Center - Classroom located off pool deck
This session will be led by Heather Hynes. The focus will be on creating sustainable energy, recovery strategies, and meal planning to support swimmers through demanding competition schedules.
Why Attend? Nutrition is often the “missing link” in performance, and the right fueling can make a significant difference in endurance, recovery, and overall results. Properly fueled athletes experience:
- Better sustained energy during races and practices
- Quicker recovery times, meaning less soreness and more readiness for each race
- Improved focus and mental clarity, which is essential for back-to-back events
- Consistency in peak performance from heats to finals
We encourage all athletes to attend this session. There will be no training for the TAG 1, TAG 2, HP groups during the classroom time as we will be running this during practice. Following the session, we will get into the pool. Families are encouraged to attend!
