Post Meet Wrap Up: Goldfins Invitational, Saskatoon (Nov 1-3)
Hello TEAM,
This past weekend the Lasers spent our time at the Shaw Center racing alongside a few different clubs at the GoldFins 48th Invitational. The meet ran very smoothly and the Laser coaches are very happy with the representation. We had 45 athletes race, which is a big increase from Regina, and each and every swimmer did an outstanding job in the pool. We saw lots of finals, so many best times, and a lot of FUN! The hard work over the past few weeks was evident and overall we can deem this as a very successful event.
This meet was part of a seasonal plan that the coaches have laid out for the swimmers in regard to periodization of skill work, heavy training, meet/competition placement, camp placement etc. If you’re ever wondering about which meets are important for your swimmer to attend, please be sure to check out the events page. On each event, we have also indicated which swim groups should be in attendance. It’s important for swimmers to show up every week and put in the work, and swim meets are crucial for skill development, to practice racing, team bonding and most importantly, building toward the bigger goal and having fun! This is why we are so pleased with the turnout at this last meet- it shows that people are supporting the program, trusting the process and having fun being part of the team. Thank you for your continued support! We are all #luckytobealaser and to be part of such a productive and positive environment. Let’s keep that GREAT energy up as we build into the end of the calendar year!#GoLasersGo
