Meet Wrap Up: Junior ‘A’ Championships (Feb 28-Mar 2)

March 5, 2025

Hello TEAM,

LASERS sent 21 athletes to Moose Jaw, from Feb 28th to Mar 2nd, to race at the Short Course Junior 'A' Provincial Championships. It was a fun and fast weekend of racing and LASERS did an outstanding job representing their TEAM. We cheered loud, raced hard and posted many great swims (best times and qualifying times!). Athletes mentioned that relays were one of the highlights of the weekend as was the 'chuck-a-duck' event, which was new for me and lots of fun to watch - I believe one of our own swimmers won a few hundred dollars from the event! One of the big wins of the weekend in my opinion, was how few DQs our TEAM had in comparison to other teams. We seem to be swimming well and doing things right, which will continue to yield great results as we build off that strong base. Remember to trust the process, keep showing up, and do the work. Congrats TEAM on an exciting weekend!

FYI - Meet management was running behind on medals and ribbons so the medals and ribbons from the weekend will be given to coaches at Man/Sask next weekend and then our club will give them out to the athletes the following week at practice - sorry for the wait, I know there are many excited athletes waiting on their hardware!

Overall it was a great weekend of TEAM building/bonding, racing our way to best times and having lots of fun along the way. Keep up the great work TEAM and lets focus our efforts in practice and closing the gap on those 'AA' times.
