Meet Wrap Up: RODS Winter Classic (Jan 16-18)
Hello TEAM,
And just like that we are back into the racing world with another GREAT showing from our superstar LASER athletes. This past weekend it was again racing in Regina, but this time it was in the big pool, long course, meaning 50meters! This was the first long course meet of the season for our athletes and they did a very good job with the transition from short course to long course. Once again our TEAM posted an outstanding amount or best times, Podiums, qualifying swims and club records, making this one of the most successful meets so far of the season!
My two favourite things that happened at this meet were; 1) the amount of cheering and TEAM support that our crew showed (TEAM culture is building - getting invested in each others racing), and 2) the fact that we had so many athletes testing themselves with newer, harder, longer events. About half the 400s, 800s and 1500s in the entire meet were LASER athletes, many of them racing these events for the first time - (again TEAM culture building - courage, resilience and trusting in the process). These two pieces (TEAM support and the courage to do hard things) are how you build a culture of excellence, which in turn yields strong performance at all levels, and as a coach, this is wonderful to see. Well done TEAM!

Great work TEAM, lets keep up the awesome training by supporting each other and finding the 1% daily gains. Don't just count the laps, but rather make every lap count. Let's GO LASERS!!!
