Meet Wrap Up: Junior Provincial Championships (Feb 27-Mar 1)
Hello TEAM,
Lasers took 33 athletes south to Moose Jaw to compete at Coach Ryan's favorite meet of the season... Junior Provincial Championships!!! This is a fun meet because for many athletes its their first championship style meet, a great introduction to racing at a higher level, 3 day meet put up against similar leveled athletes from across the province as well as a few from outside Saskatchewan. Our Lasers did an outstanding job representing our TEAM and we got to witness many best times, Podium spots and lots more qualifying times. The podium data below is not entirely correct as the results didn't breakout into each individual category so we actually had many more medals and event winners. Based on the great results as well as taking into account the new rule, where events winners in their age group get an invitation to Man/Sask Championships (regardless of hitting the Man/Sask qual time), we had a few athletes joining our Man/Sask TEAM racing in Winnipeg in a few weeks. Big Congrats to event winners; Mia, Sophie, Kylie, Ally, Kennedy, Nic, Felix and Zeca! Well done TEAM!
We also had 2 athletes, Yegor and Bryson (14 and Over Boys), make the top three for most improved points, congrats LASERS!

Side note: There was another big win for the weekend.... a certain head coach, hit a PB in how many donuts he ate in a day. I believe the final count was 5!!! If you see him at the pool help celebrate his win, we're all on the same TEAM, and share in the success of each-other!

But in all seriousness, stay focused on your goals, specifically the things in your control. Stay positive and work the 1% daily gains. Consistency is the key to progress in the pool. Let's set up ourselves for a fantastic Man/Sask if you're attending, and if not lets get back to the grind and start building towards the "Bridge City Classic" Lasers' Long Course meet. Let's go LASERS!!!
