Meet Wrap Up: J.P. Fiset (Dec 11-14)

December 18, 2025

Hello TEAM,

This past weekend the LASERS sent our biggest TEAM to date, out to Edmonton to race some of the 'Best of the West'. In 2023 Lasers sent 13 qualified athletes to JP Fiset (10 Olympic/3Paralympic), in 2024 we sent 18 qualified athletes (15 Olympic/3 Paralympic), and this year we sent 22 qualified athletes (22 Olympic stream, as our Paralympic athletes did not attend since they traveled to Ken Demchuk to race instead). This data is a great indicator of progress, regarding the growth and depth of our TEAM's performance development.

Wrapping up our first full training cycle of the season (14 week training block sept-dec) we've seen some BIG wins. The amount of mileage the athletes are handling is increasing, the pace times the athletes can handle are improving, the amount of racing experience the athletes are getting (prelims & finals) is accumulating, the amount of best times and qualifying swims that they are achieving continues to pile up, and on top of all that success, the amount of fun the TEAM is having is immeasurable - all BIG wins for TEAM LASERS. We will be starting a new block of training with some new goals and focusing on building into Junior A Provincials, Man/Sask champs and leading to our first Long Course priority meet - the LASERS own 'Bridge City Classic' - as well as the new 'Best of the West' Championship meet (more info to come). We're just warming up.... lots of GREAT swimming too come!

Stay focused on your goals, make the most of your meters and find your daily wins.

Go Lasers Go!
