Meet Wrap Up: Best of the West Fest (Apr 23-26)

Hello TEAM,

Rowyn, Philip, Max and Theo, along with Coach Chris and parents, made the trip (back again) to the Winnipeg Pan Am pool to represent the LASERS at the inaugural "Best of the West Fest", a long course, semi-national level, age group meet, showcasing the best age group athletes from across the western provinces, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia! It was an exciting event with lots of great swimming from our TEAM and others. It was lots of fun and we are all very proud of our LASERS TEAM!!!

Overall this was a great meet and was run extremely well in my opinion. I love that Swimming Canada has supported the addition of adding a 'stepping stone' meet for the age group athletes who are caught between provincial championships and JR Trials. This year we placed 32nd out of over 60+ TEAMs and we placed top 10 in the medium TEAMs division - huge congrats to our LASERS! Our goal will be to have twice as many athletes at this meet next year (along with relays), so lets get to work on closing the gap on those qual times!!!
